In that rare quiet moment, somewhere between raising two children and celebrating a day of Thanksgiving, the sun warmed me and I imagined all the ways I could liberate myself, and perhaps others, by developing this site... A space for creative accountability and motivation, a venue for challenges, a virtual easel on which to share and display work, a platform for connecting with other artists, and a refuge free from harsh critiques or expectations.

(1) to gaze meditatively or wonderingly / "to be absorbed in thought"
(2) the kinetic motivating power regarded as inspiring a poet, artist, thinker, musician, or the like.
36 Muse is a personal challenge I intend to undertake in the coming months. Like Hokusai I will select and study a subject within 36 views, however I intend to set a 3 month time limit on each endeavor. Through my collections I hope to cover a wide range of aesthetic mediums while composing methodical artistic habits and imbuing my life with a renewed sense of creative purpose.
This site is also a space for sharing encouragement and revealing visual muses, be they silly, fantastical, devastating, or breathtaking... I hope that as you pause here you find kindling for your own creative challenge(s). Burn bright.
